You will support and assist with a wide range of daily living activities including personal care, cleaning/domestic assistance, meal preparation, respite, shopping, transport to/from appointments and day programs, and other activities. We are looking for people from all different backgrounds who have: • A passion for working with the elderly and desire to support older people with daily living activities • Some experience working with the elderly (personal and volunteer experience count!) • Knowledge and understanding of the needs of the elderly and their carers • A driver's licence and own car • Comprehensive car insurance • First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain) Please note that you must be available to work at least 4 days per week (a minimum of 20 hours) from Monday to Friday. You will work within a recovery framework that focuses on assisting participants with developing and retaining social skills to maximise independence, quality of life and community participation. The role will mainly support participants in their own home and will include assistance with all aspects of daily living as identified in their NDIS goals. As the NDIS is introduced into our houses over the next few months, this will be a key opportunity to greatly enhance our service provision What the role is: We are looking for an experienced manager to lead and manage a team providing support to clients living in one of our 4 group homes, within the Eastern Suburbs. As team leader you will be responsible for ensuring that the people you are supporting have meaningful engagement with the community in all its forms and ensuring their complex needs are being met. Within our Disability Services, the Supported Accommodation Program currently provides 24/7 accommodation and support to 15 individuals across 4 group homes in the Eastern Suburbs. Th aim of the program is to develop individual living skills in a caring and supportive environment within the community. We are looking for a permanent part time staff member for a minimum 52 / 60 hours per fortnight to work in one of our group homes assisting 4 young women. We also have a casual role (25 hours per week) working across our other houses as required. You must be available for 4/5 days as below: Mondays  0600 to 1400 Tuesdays  0600 to 1000 Wednesdays  1400 to 2000 Thursdays  2200 to 0600 (this awake shift is not a permanent shift and will cease at the end of October) or  Fridays  1400 to 2200 (you may elect to do both shifts if you wish). The casual role involves sleepovers and a variety of shifts most of which are 4 hours from 0600 to 1000. Some weekend work may be required.
